I first met Norman just a few weeks after I'd started shooting Zona Norte. He had been working in a bar called New York. It was a terrible bar as far as ZN bars go. Regardless, he was a nice guy and on our way out of New York, I tipped him a two-dollar bill. When I saw him months later and took this photo, he pulled out his wallet and showed me he still had the two-dollar bill.
His stand is near the Chicago Club, a once-legendary strip club, but these days it is mostly empty.
