Venessa was from Mississippi. She was in a book about HIV in Tijuana called Tomorrow is a Long Time. When the book was being written, she had a Hep-C diagnosis but did not have HIV. Days after the book was published, she got an HIV diagnosis. She chose to not get any treatment and continued to use. Under the sweatshirt you see in this photo, there is a large abscess. I gave Venessa money to get it drained. In January of 2017, Venessa got yet another abscess; this time, it was in her calf and she didn't seek any treatment for it. She died a few days later from sepsis.
